FBFC Turns 160!
We have been making lives better in the communities we serve since 1859. That makes us older than the Civil War, older than the Great Depression, older than radio, television and the internet, and maybe even older than Keith Richards (no one really knows)! Please enjoy this page and the slivers of history we’ve included to show you where we came from. There are even opportunities for you to help us give money away, and win some money for yourself. Peruse away!
Hear From The Community
I've been a customer of FBFC since 2017 during my divorce. I needed a new home for my kids and I, yet we were still owning the old family home. After Chase gave me the mortgage approval and I made an offer, they were 6 weeks delayed with the closing. Trying to keep my seller's trust in me was difficult. Finally it came out approved and then I didn't qualify for PMI insurance. So the mortgage fell trough. It was an unbelievable nightmare: movers were ordered, seller put the house back on the market! I went to David Brogan and First Bank. David fought for us. First Bank booked the loan from their own portfolio, and within 3 (THREE!) weeks we had closed, and moved into the new home that I thought we had lost already.
Dave and I began banking at First Bank Financial Centre (then the Bank of Oconomowoc) as soon as we were married and moved to Oconomowoc. I worked at "the bank on the corner" the first years of our married life but then, of course, had to leave when I was five months pregnant, as was the standard then. It's wonderful to have a community bank and we've had excellent, personalized service and are happy to call the employees friends. Congratulations First Bank...….160 years is an admirable thing!!!
I've been a customer of FBFC since 1986 after my divorce. I go to the main branch in downtown Oconomowoc. The employees always greet me with a smile and call me by my name. They have gone above and beyond for me a few times the last time being when I dropped off my Oconomowoc Utility bill to be paid, but the check had fallen out of the open envelope and they had called and left a message that the check wasn't with the statement. I like their helpfulness. Congratulations on 160 years. I like doing my banking business with you.
FBFC has made banking easy and straightforward for me! The staff know me and understand my banking needs. They are always available and willing to answer any questions I have and suggest services that could enhance my financial well-being. Whether in-person, by phone, or online, staff and resources are readily available when I need them. I love that FBFC is local and would recommend their services to any Greater Milwaukee resident who is looking for a bank they can trust!
My family has been banking with FBFC since 1979 when we moved here from Florida. I was 8 years old, and excited to open a savings account for my "piggy bank" money. Here we are, 40 years later, and I am still a loyal customer. I kept the tradition alive, and took my own daughter to open her first savings account as a little girl, and she too remains a loyal customer. FBFC focuses on supporting the community, putting customer service first, and keeping up with modern banking trends, all while maintaining that small town bank atmosphere that makes us all feel like family. I would not put my financial trust in any other bank. Congratulations on 160 years! Well done!

For 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. We make meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6-18, living in Washington County. With over 6,500 youth served and 8 million hours of volunteering in 50 years, we are Defenders of Potential, igniting our youth for a brighter future.
As a vibrant community partner, Germantown Youth Futures fosters positive youth development through education and activities, in an effort to keep our youth drug-free. Students volunteer at local events, plan fun and educational activities for their peers, and engage in leadership opportunities throughout the community. We empower youth to address the problems they see in their schools and community through advocacy and awareness, service, and peer support.
