FBFC Turns 160!
We have been making lives better in the communities we serve since 1859. That makes us older than the Civil War, older than the Great Depression, older than radio, television and the internet, and maybe even older than Keith Richards (no one really knows)! Please enjoy this page and the slivers of history we’ve included to show you where we came from. There are even opportunities for you to help us give money away, and win some money for yourself. Peruse away!
Hear From The Community
Returning to the West Bend area after a long absence, I received a promotion through the mail inviting me to use FBFC's services. For me, the welcome and connection was instantly agreeable. The staff was welcoming, always identifies patrons by name and returns the "small town" atmosphere that seems absent in most of the financial industry. The pleasure and support from the personnel is as genuine as it gets.
I've been a customer of FBFC since 2017 during my divorce. I needed a new home for my kids and I, yet we were still owning the old family home. After Chase gave me the mortgage approval and I made an offer, they were 6 weeks delayed with the closing. Trying to keep my seller's trust in me was difficult. Finally it came out approved and then I didn't qualify for PMI insurance. So the mortgage fell trough. It was an unbelievable nightmare: movers were ordered, seller put the house back on the market! I went to David Brogan and First Bank. David fought for us. First Bank booked the loan from their own portfolio, and within 3 (THREE!) weeks we had closed, and moved into the new home that I thought we had lost already.
Dave and I began banking at First Bank Financial Centre (then the Bank of Oconomowoc) as soon as we were married and moved to Oconomowoc. I worked at "the bank on the corner" the first years of our married life but then, of course, had to leave when I was five months pregnant, as was the standard then. It's wonderful to have a community bank and we've had excellent, personalized service and are happy to call the employees friends. Congratulations First Bank...….160 years is an admirable thing!!!
I've been a customer of FBFC since 1986 after my divorce. I go to the main branch in downtown Oconomowoc. The employees always greet me with a smile and call me by my name. They have gone above and beyond for me a few times the last time being when I dropped off my Oconomowoc Utility bill to be paid, but the check had fallen out of the open envelope and they had called and left a message that the check wasn't with the statement. I like their helpfulness. Congratulations on 160 years. I like doing my banking business with you.
FBFC has made banking easy and straightforward for me! The staff know me and understand my banking needs. They are always available and willing to answer any questions I have and suggest services that could enhance my financial well-being. Whether in-person, by phone, or online, staff and resources are readily available when I need them. I love that FBFC is local and would recommend their services to any Greater Milwaukee resident who is looking for a bank they can trust!

St. Francis Children's Center's mission is to serve and educate children with special needs in inclusive environments enabling them to reach their greatest potential. In 2017, we served over 800 children: 78% of them had special needs or developmental delays, and 54% of their families were living at or below the poverty level.
Operation DREAM was founded in 2006 to make a lasting impact on boys and young men in Milwaukee by engaging them as early as age four, matching them with dedicated positive role models from the same neighborhoods in Milwaukee, and guiding them into responsible adulthood through holistic programming so they graduate from high school and are equipped to lead self-sufficient lives.
Through our shopping spaces, gardens, community kitchens, and mentoring programs we create dynamic food environments to foster kinship between disparate groups; promote healthy food access; and empower our community with the resources to serve and advocate toward greater social and economic stability.
