Teresa's Benefit for Pancreatic Cancer

Teresa

On January 21, First Bank Financial Centre (FBFC) donated $1,000 to Teresa’s Benefit for Pancreatic Cancer.  This event is taking place on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 7pm to midnight at Olympia Resort and Conference Center in Oconomowoc.

Last year’s benefit raised $75,000 from more than 800 attendees.  All proceeds gathered from this benefit were distributed to AngelsGrace Hospice, the Lustgarten Foundation (a pancreatic cancer research organization), and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Teresa Krier, a member of the Oconomowoc community, lost her life to pancreatic cancer on August 14, 2008.  While fighting a courageous battle, she inspired many with her positive attitude and contagious smile. Her hope and humor gave others strength, even when she had none.  Through her illness, Teresa did not fight alone, but found much strength in the support of her family, friends, co-workers, doctors, nurses and other caregivers.

First Bank Financial Centre is proud to contribute to this benefit in memory of Teresa Krier.  If you would like more information on how you can donate to Teresa’s Benefit, or if you would like tickets, please contact Dr. Pete Sheild at 262-567-1323.

Putting the "Wraps" on Hunger

Gift Wrapping 2009

First Bank Financial Centre (FBFC) helped put the “wraps on hunger” this Holiday season by wrapping Christmas gifts for customers and community members alike during the month of December.  For a $1 per gift, or non-perishable food item donation to our local food pantries, FBFC employees helped spread Holiday cheer.

Our corporate office in Oconomowoc offered this service four days during the month of December.  During that time, $458, and a box of food were donated for the Oconomowoc Food Pantry.

During two wrapping days, FBFC’s Hartford office raised $200 and a case of toothbrushes and toothpaste for the Hartford Food Pantry.

FBFC continues to support our local food pantries in an effort to make a difference not only during the Holiday season, but all year round.

The Verdonschot Family

On December 5, 2009, between 9 and 11 am, Santa came to town - to FBFC's Summit Ave. office in Oconomowoc anyway.  Children and families had their pictures taken with Father Christmas for a $2 donation to the Oconomowoc Food Pantry.  In this two hour time frame, they were able to raise $45, and three bags of groceries.  It was a fun time for the kids, and a great way to give back to our community.
